At St. Al’s, we work hard to balance the focus of our events. Every year, our goal is to host at least as many friendraising as fundraising opportunities. Please check out our Friendraising & Fundraising Calendar below for more details! This balance is one of the reasons our St. Al’s community is so vibrant. That said, when it comes to financially supporting and sustaining our awesome school, our three main fundraising events each year - Fund Run, Annual Fund, and Auction - are both essential and endearing. They are all essential because they directly impact our operating budget. They are endearing because our loyal community members rise to the occasion every time and bless St. Al’s with gifts that invoke our eternal gratitude. 

 
 

Annual Auction

By far our largest fundraiser every year, our Annual Auction in the spring, has become one of Spokane’s premier events! With 400-500 people typically in attendance, St. Al’s knows how to bring people together to celebrate community and support our school at the same time! There are many ways to support our Annual Auction from sponsorship opportunities to item donations, cash donations, paddle raise gifts, and volunteer opportunities. Annual Fund

Even though there is not an actual event that corresponds with our Annual Fund, it has become a key component of our Catholic Schools Week celebrations. We kick off our Annual Fund ask each year on #GivingTuesday shortly after Thanksgiving. We then publish our annual report at the very beginning of the new calendar year and continue to promote our Annual Fund through Catholic Schools Week which usually concludes at the end of January or beginning of February. This timeline provides year-end giving opportunities for our benefactors and fun class-competition opportunities and rewards for our students and teachers.

Fund Run

We host this fun-filled, school-wide event each fall to promote physical fitness and school spirit, and to raise the funds necessary to continue the excellent Catholic education and faith formation offered at St. Al’s. Every student, Infants - 8th Graders, participates! Staff members push our infants and toddlers in strollers, while the “big kids” run or walk with their classmates on a school-designed course. Financial gifts are solicited by our students, and they receive tickets based on gifts given in their honor. They use the tickets for chances to win fantastic prizes. We also recognize the top runners from each class and the overall top runners as well. Parents, grandparents, friends, and family members gather at school to support our students as they participate in this great community event!
