The Montessori Difference!
In our St. Aloysius Montessori program, we have two multi-age classrooms (3-6 years) that foster peer learning, uninterrupted periods of work time in which children have a large variety of learning options and activities in the areas of language, math, science, geography, sensorial, practical life, art, history, and religion. Our Montessori classrooms are prepared by the teachers to encourage independence, freedom within limits, and a sense of order. Students have the freedom to choose work and may interact with the teachers when he/she feels they need a lesson or guidance. It is the teacher’s job to observe the children as they work and give group or individual demonstrations. Our Montessori program is an integral part of the mission of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic School.

Enrollment Guidelines
At St. Al’s, we have worked to create an enrollment experience for our school that is both educational and efficient for interested families. The process is outlined below. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you to our St. Al’s family in the very near future!
Step 1: Schedule a guided tour!
Because we believe so strongly in the value of human relationship, a personal tour is the first step in our enrollment process. We want to meet you and your child! During your tour, we will explore our facilities and provide an opportunity for conversation with teachers and staff. Please follow the link below or call 509-489-7825.
Step 2: Join our waitlist!
This step in the enrollment process is only necessary when there are no age-appropriate open spots available. The length of our waitlist and the duration of this step in the process can vary significantly, and we appreciate your patience and your trust as we navigate what is best for our students and families, our staff, and our community.
Registration for our currently enrolled Montessori families occurs mid-March. Once this process is complete, we offer available spots to families on our waitlist according to the following priority considerations:
Employees of St. Al’s School or Parish
Children presently enrolled in our ELC programs and siblings of K-8 students
Active members of St. Aloysius Parish (minimum of one year)
Employees of Gonzaga University
Employees of Gonzaga Preparatory School
Children of Catholic Parents who are active in a parish other than St. Aloysius
Step 3: Accept an offer!
We love Step 3! When we offer you a spot for your child, that means we believe that your family and St. Al’s are a perfect match! Once you accept our offer, we can begin the official application process.
Step 4: Registration
During this step, families will complete all necessary student application paperwork. Your application will be reviewed by our Admin Team. Once your application is approved, you will be invited to officially register your child as a St. Al’s student!
Step 5: Enrollment!
