A Time of Wonder!
Kindergarteners jumped into 2025 full of JOY and excitement! We celebrated the Feast of Epiphany with a visit from the Three Wise Men and received a mustard seed gift to share with our families. This small jar with a single mustard seed enclosed will help remind us to ask the Lord everyday for faith the size of a mustard seed. (Matthew 17:20-21)
Christmas Vacation energized these five and six year olds. They came back ready to go. I told them…”You haven’t missed a beat!” Big smiles are evident on their sweet faces as they are decoding words more fluently, reading our UFLI stories and decodable readers with understanding, creating posters about animals we’ve read non-fiction stories about, solving number bonds with greater accuracy, using pictures to help us solve story problems, and counting fluently by five to highlight a few of our successes.
This week, Mobius Discovery Center took our K-4 students on a Space Adventure in their portable planetarium, created rockets to launch into space, built bracelets to remind us of our Solar System and used a salad spinner to create beautiful pictures to remind us of space. The kinders were THRILLED! One little friend said, “This is a jaw dropper!” another was heard coming back in from recess singing, “I LOVE Science!” over and over.
We look forward to February…Friendship Month! We will jump into reading Elephant and Piggie stories by author Mo Willems and plan for our Kindergarten Play based on the book, I Am Invited To A Party!
