October

First Grade is off to such a great beginning to the school year! We have been learning about the life cycle of plants, and we took a field trip to an apple orchard to see the trees in various stages of growth. We also learned about bee pollination and how fruit is transported from farm to table. Father Dan came to visit our classroom, and read a book on how each one of us is special to Jesus. We have also studied the life cycle of pumpkins, and had fun creating our own puffy paint pumpkins.

Later this month we will celebrate Hallowfest as a school community, and have the opportunity for fellowship. I am excited to see all of my first graders’ costumes! We have been strengthening our friendship skills, and learning to love each other the way that Jesus loves us.

I am grateful every single day to share my days with my students, and to see the world through their eyes! Looking forward to cooler fall weather, as we move into studying community helpers.

Love,

Mrs. Croft :)
